Make-up of group to feed through to HS

It would be v useful to see the group make-up info that B.com and HW collect (e.g. how many males/females, how many adults/kids). At the moment we have to go to B.com and HW to check this before we do allocations (particularly as people often arrive with kids they havent booked beds for, and we need to have this flagged so we can turn down their booking)

@issuetracker4 Thanks for submitting this, Nikki. We are working to include gender data from OTA on each reservation. In addition, we are working on the option to collect genders on direct bookings as well.

Do you have an example of a reservation where the Booking.com (or HW) reservation includes more people in the "group make-up info" states more people than the reserved number of beds? We would need to investigate the details of this type of reservation in order to create an alert ("flagging") as you have requested.

Hi
You asked for an example - Booking.com ref no. 1323550389 is an example of someone who booked 5 beds and wrote into their notes that they're 5 adults and 2 kids (they intended to share beds). We had to veto this on arrival not least because they were sharing with others and it wouldn't be fair on them. But additionally we'd appreciate under-16s being flagged if that's possible (even if they have their own bed) because our policy is not to allow them in shared dorms, and B.com doesn't help us to weed these out - they have to read the small print and they often don't.

@issuetracker4 Hi Nikki,

First of all, how did you get notified for my last comment? I asked previously if you received an email and you said No. Did you receive an email later? I confirmed with Petre and learned email notifications of new replies from me should be sent to you within one hour of my submission to the Issue Tracker.

Thanks for providing that booking number. It appears you may be requesting several things in a single feature request. Let me address these one at a time.

First, the main request of "Seeing the group make-up that Booking.com and HostelWorld collect (e.g. how many males/females, how many adults/kids).

GENDER INFORMATION
I have looked through the data sent to us by Booking.com and Hostelworld. It appears Booking.com does not tell us the number of males and females in their booking data. However, Hostelworld does. I also looked on Booking.com extranet and I do not see any gender information on reservation #1323550389. Do you see this information some place? We, of course, can't display this information if it's not available to us.

However, it appears HostelWorld does provide this data. We have another feature in the works that will put this male/female into the notes section of the reservation and possibly into it's own fields.

ADULTS / CHILDREN INFORMATION
I do see where Booking.com provides this information. I understand you would like us to create an alert that shows when the total number of beds being reserved does not match the total number of Adults/Children. Since this is separate from the Gender Information I have submitted this on your behalf as a separate issue. In the meantime, I would be surprised if this can not be configured as a policy on Booking.com. If not, I think it's a feature request for them. How can they accept a reservation for more people than the number of beds being reserved?

Hi,
1. I have noticed that I get a 'staff message' on HS, which is how I knew that you'd updated this FR (maybe that's what you meant that I'd be getting - I assumed you meant an email). So I'm just trying to remember to check these regularly.
2. Yes, you're right that HW and B.com don't provide the same info. But whatever is provided would be good to pass on to HS.
3. I've already called B.com and moaned to them about their lack of ability to pick up guests intending to share beds. The operative said she agreed but she knew it had already been requested as a fix by other users and B.com don't plan to do anything about it. The one thing they'll do is back us if we turn the guests away upon arrival.
