Detailed Information about the People Database:

The People Database is a record of every person that has ever stayed at your hostel, or even just emailed your hostel. If the guest stayed with you, any details entered wtih their reservation, at check in, or during their stay will appear when you click their name.

The most important part of the People Database is the built in DNA/DNE list. This means "Do Not Admitt" and "Do Not Extend". You may sometimes have a guest that does not fit your hostel atmosphere, breaks your rules, or for whatever reason is not welcome in your hostel. You can use this feature to prevent them from staying again.

The DNA/DNE status option will always say "Do Not Accept"

  • If you choose this for a guest currently staying, they will not be allowed to extend their stay.
    • The system will give an error when nights are added.
  • If you choose this for a previous guest, they will not be able to make a return reservation if the same email address is used.
    • The system will give an error, both on the intefarnal side and the public reservations page.
    • If the same name is used, the system will give a warning that the name is on the DNA list.
    • This prevents another Joe Smith from being denied a reservation if a different Joe Smith was put on the DNA list.
